Reception Desks

The first surface a client touches.

A Bellistri reception desk is built for hundreds of daily hands and decades of use. One fired slab, wrapped over a fabricated frame, in a colour that will not dull or discolour under commercial lighting.

How It's Made

Built for hundreds of hands a day, not a handful

A reception desk lives a harder life than a kitchen worktop — leaned on, wiped down, and looked at closely by every visitor who walks in. We design for that from the first drawing: the visible face is a single wrapped or mitred slab of fired basalt, cut and, where glazed, kiln-fired in our Catania workshop, then bonded over a fabricated frame built to the exact interior layout — storage, cabling, accessible-height sections and branding — that your project needs. Twenty-seven years of doing this for hotels, clinics and offices means we plan for the details that get missed on paper: cable routes that don't show, a return edge that survives a decade of trolleys and bags brushing past it, and a glaze that reads the same under showroom halogens as it does five years later under standard office lighting.

Care & Maintenance

Cleaned like any commercial surface, ages like none

Daily contact

Wipe with water or a standard commercial cleaner. The non-porous, closed surface resists hand oils, ink and everyday commercial grime without staining.

Healthcare settings

Compatible with standard hospital-grade disinfectants — there is no sealant layer to break down under repeated chemical cleaning, unlike laminate or timber-veneer desks.

High-traffic edges

Return edges facing foot traffic are profiled and, where volume is high, can be specified at a heavier 30mm monolithic thickness for extra impact resistance.

Before You Buy

Frequently asked

Is it hygienic enough for a healthcare reception?

Yes — the fired surface is non-porous with no seams for bacteria to lodge in, and cleans with standard hospital-grade disinfectants without damaging the finish.

Can you match our brand colour exactly?

We match most brand colours from our 58-glaze palette, and can discuss a custom RAL-matched glaze for larger commercial orders.

Do you build desks over 3 metres?

Yes — length is effectively unlimited, built from jointed sections with the seam positioned to be as unobtrusive as possible.
